no offense if there are any squirt boat fans out there but that might be the dumbest thing I have ever seen.  Whatever floats your boat (or submerges it) I guess. To each, his own.

That what powerboaters say about us every time they pass us on the water.  :smt003

But I agree ... that is the craziest thing I've ever seen in a kayak submarine

I appreciate the theory of 'harnessing subsurface currents' but there was way too much twirling in that video haha!

Thanks for sharing the video Tote. I really enjoyed that. Squirt boating is not for me, but I really find it fascinating. It would definitely be a path to better understanding how water works.
It looks more like flying than river running at times.

Go underwater and spin?

Uhhhhhhhhh........ I must have missed the point of that video.  What exactly is the fun of going under water and spinning in circles?

The spinning is how they are able to descend to get into the currents they are interested in. They are still buoyant, so they angle the leading edge of the boat and grab some current to either descend or climb. Like a prop.  Im probably not be explaining it very well.  (Bernoulli's principles stuff)
I think it would be an incredible way to experience a whirlpool.
I do think squirt boats ARE kind of sexy, in a weird 80s pop kind of way.
And that form fit promises crazy control.

The only thing  that I can find of any value for fishing is that I believe that the knowledge gained in just one day below the surface of a river/stream is worth a year of fishing experience.
Otherwise, just another post trying to keep the K in ncka.

I dunno.
Have you ever gone ab diving and rode the surge underwater through rocks and wide crevices? It's pretty fun.
Seems to me to be the same kind of fun.

Not sure what would happen when the landlord comes knocking to collect rent.....

This.

All they will be thinking before taking a chomp is... o O (Look, a wounded twirling seal, this should be an easy meal!)  :smt044
