I also watched the first season then got bored for second haha. I wanted to like it so much but I couldn't!

The Talking Dead is what makes The Walking Dead so great.  To hear the discussion, to know you understood, or to gain understanding of what happened is great! 

Without Talking Dead, it wouldn't be near as entertaining.

So, why are the living dead referred to as "walkers" instead of zombies on "The Walking Dead"?

One of the pleasures of watching AMC's new "Walking Dead" aftershow — "Talking Dead" — is the chance for fans to get answers to questions like that one. "Walking Dead" comics creator and TV series producer Robert Kirkman answered it on Sunday.

In the world of "The Walking Dead," he said, the concept of zombies doesn't exist.

"One of the things about this world is that people don't know how to shoot people in the head at first, and they're not familiar with zombies, per se," Kirkman said on "Talking Dead." "This isn't a world the (George) Romero movies exist in, for instance … because we don't want to portray it that way, we felt like having them be saying 'zombie' all the time would harken back to all of the zombie films which we, in the real world, know about.

"So by calling them something different, we're kind of giving a nod to … these people don't understand the situation. They've never seen this in pop culture, this is a completely new thing for them."

okay, so i must have  missed a few seasons , I do not remember them not carrying her around

She was born in the prison.  Season 3, Episode 3

 the prison time was my starting point but I never saw the birth or episodes with  her mother...

I gave this show a try back when it appeared on Netflix, and we didn't make it through the season. I guess I thought it was too boring....

fast forward to June, and I got hooked on "Z Nation", a much faster-paced, less serious take on the genre (I mean they had Zombabies, ZomBears, and stoned Zombies, even a Zombie on Viagra for f**ks sake). Ran out of those (only 1 season) and so sometime during the labor day weekend I started in on  the TWD again, looking for a bit more drama to balance the Znation craziness

No real idea why I didn't like TWD at first, as now I'm really enjoying the individual character arcs. OK, there are some plot holes, and currently (season 3 finale) there is more predictability than I'd like, but I can see now why the show gained such notoriety.

walkers are like GWS, you never know when one is gonna suddenly appear n try to bite you

and now the Fear TWD show, fills in how it all started which isn't in TWD...I sooo like both shows
