Sorry in advance for the threadjack Jim, but I gotta see what people's opinion is on this: It seems that you divers shoot them pretty consistently from Carmel to Big Sur, so they are obviously there in decent numbers. I have yet to hear of someone catching one hook and line in that area. What gives??!! I've gone as far as to bring food grade scallops to a hookup and used them for bait all day hoping for a sheep...didn't catch a sheep but caught some serious flack from the scummies in the process :smt005 Has anyone caught one in this area? I want one :smt007

I caught one on an anchovie in Dana Point, only one I have caught. But you are right, it seems that one should be able to hook one, especially if a guy like BigJim can stick one....just sayin.  :smt044
