Went solo on the Triple today.  Launched at 6:30 and headed out to just past the mile buoy.  Saw another yaker out there which turned out to be Mendohead.  Damn kingfish were everywhere taking every squid I sent down.  A pretty good drift pushed us to the north, so I pulled up and headed south.  Dropped em in but now not even a kingfish and it went quiet for a bit.  Drifted over a reef and started hooking a lot of blues, then a red, then something with a little fight which I was hoping might be a flattie.  Released a nice 28" ling!  A PB next to me released one alot bigger.  Caught some more blues, reds, gophers, and a 24" ling.  Drifted off the reef and things got quiet again.  Pulled em in and ran inside to where Mendo was drifting.  He was releasing a red right as I pulled up.  No lings here either.  Things got quiet so we headed in.  No butts about it.   I didn't see any of the PBers getting any either.

Hi Allen:

It was fun sharing our adventure.  I look foward to helping you paddle your Cobra. I really like the way you have rigged your Cobre with, the Crate up foward. I get cramps just trying to reach behind me to access my rods. Your Cobre has soo much Deck space, I could take a nap on board while you Paddle!  :smt015 I have been renting the Prowler from Kayak Connection for the short term till I can afford a Yak, Rack, FF etc...
My Wife has this coming Tuesday off and, I might try Santa Cruz again.
