Here's a pic of jmairey's new weapon.  Looks like he plans to execute on all of the planning he did this year.  This is a Rainshadow SW967F blank that has been built to his specifications.  The blank is a very versatile rod.  rated for 14-25# line and 3/4 - 4 oz lures and even though it has a fairly stiff tip and good power in the butt, it has a parabolic / moderate action perfect for fishing spectra line.

- Extended to 8'3" overall length,
- extra large foregrip to make the rod float when fitted with an Abu 6500 reel,
- acid wrapped,
- Fuji solid titanium framed SiC guides 100% corrosion proof and extremely light weight.
- Fuji palm support reel seat with holes for rod leash and hook keeper.
- Ferrule alignment marks for quick and accurate assembly.
- Topped off with an NCKA scull and crossbones logo.
- Black and gunmetal metallic highlights... stealthy.

I'll be in the mail on Saturday so you and it can stare at eachother for the rest of the winter.

Awesome work Erik!! I will be filling up my quiver of rods soon enough, so I'll be in touch. It'll be nice to graduate from the Big 5 club :smt003 ... is that ghetto or what!?

Nice job on the extended foregrip for flotation.......eliminates any need or plans for filling the blank with expanding foam  :smt003

art, it's great all over, but I especially like the guides, check the tiptop (no spectra wraps while jigging).

I think erik had to dress up ninja style, fly to japan, sneak into the fuji factory for those!

this is a rod worth of fishing off your boat with art, when are we going?  :smt003

Well... not quite... but I spent enough time and effort the first time that I ordered from that Japanese website that I might as well have flown there and did the ninja routine.  Then I discovered Google Translator... ta daa!

The tip top in solid titanium isn't available in the states... only from a couple of Japanese sources.  Nice stuff.

Wow!. I'm not exactly sure what it is I'm looking at as far as the technicals go, but I do know that is one beautifully crafted piece of art. Nice job Erik.

Nice pole jmairey!   :smt007

Erik is this pole considered an all around Bay/Ocean Rod.  ie Salmon/Sturgeon/Halibut/Stripers/ etc.  I've been considering replacing my seeker rod with a custom.
