Sounds like it could be bad, as one was "unresponsive"...

Waiting to get more info on this.  The mouth of the Eel is very near my home, and it's no place to mess around on an outgoing tide like this afternoon...   

Hopefully tragedy was averted and we'll all learn from someone's mistake.

My thoughts exactly Eric. In fact, I never mess around down there except on an in coming tide. If something goes wrong you'll get sucked out into the breakers.

We don't know the exact details on this case however.

This is an odd one - there has been NO followup in the local media...  Weird.

A first responder that was present told me both were locals and one died there. Too bad really.

They were kayaking at the wrong place.  no other details were  provided.

That is terrible news. this is why I like getting a guide for every new place I go to!
