I want Line Counter, Left hand retrieval, and power handle knob reel.
I narrowed it down to 2 models.
- Daiwa Sealine
- Okuma Coldwater

Can you let me know what is your experience with them?
Is there any other model that fits the above ?

I fish with an Abu c3 6501 . I got the power handle upgrade off amazon. I believe they make a model with a line counter but I'm not sure. If the last two numbers in the model is 01 it shout be a left hand retrieve.

My son uses a okuma convector 30 left hand with a line counter. He really likes it but I think the retrieval speed is a shade lower and I find the clicker to be way to loud and annoying. If you turn the clicker off it is better but still makes some noise. There are many size options available in this reel

I know with the c3 it is really easy to thumb out more line and instant engage when I turn the handle which I think is the most important thing to me. I will probably get the c4 6501 next (Abu) with an even nicer thumb button line release

My current and only reel is also Abu c3 6501.
Nothing wrong with that reel, except I lose count of my depth  :smt010
I thought LC reel would help.

I don't have any experience with neither model but my experiences with okuma has always been bad (reels)
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I have the okuma cold water low profile left hand line counter. I absolutely love that reel! I've caught rockfish and lings, salmon, shark, halibut, and some odd balls in the ocean. I also put some light line topshot on it and troll for trout as well.

The reel has been great to me. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. I'll probably buy a second one at some point as well.

Don't get the regular round reel though, make sure you go low profile. The regular round reel isn't as smooth. They really are 2 different reels. I looked at the round reel, and i wouldn't suggest that one.

I use nothing but Abu 6500's, but if you are asking about a reel with a counter The Sealine is the way to go. Good luck with finding your new reel, I like lightweight tackle, the bigger reels are too bulky and heavy for my liking, especially when I have UglyStik Tigers as my rods...

Good luck with your shopping, even though they don't have a line counter, you can always get an idea after a dozen or so uses, a FF works great helping to range your depths, etc. You start to realize your depths depending on weight and oz's used too...

I use a braided line that Cabelas makes called Depth Counter. It changes colors every 20ft. That could be an option if you want to use your Abu.

I glanced at that article. It had some interesting points about the regular bs low profile. If you were to compare a regular cold water with the low profile you can instantly tell the difference. I'm glad I picked the low profile lol. I've only been using mine since December last year so I'll hVe to see how it works long long term.

I have both the okuma coldwater in both low profile and regular round with LC, the low profile has been great so far. The regular round needed more lubricating to keep it working with no issues. The auto lever on the regular keeps gets stuck in the middle. I haven't had any issues with the low profile, I haven't had it that long.
