Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I need a little breakdown on how the SIZE is factored into the points equation.Is it just in the  "biggest fish" catagory and years end?

And please Bill,  Don't make me start bustin caps off!!   :smt066  It may appear in my pictures that I'm a "tough guy-homeboy" I ain't....I'm just a fishin' fool!! who likes to spread the "love" :hippy2: where ever I go. :smoke

Scoring Scale (points per inch)

Rockcod = 7 pts
Cabezon = 7 pts
Salmon = 5 pts
Halibut = 4 pts
Ling = 4 pts
Trout = 7 pts
Smallmouth = 10 pts
Largemouth = 8 pts
Sturgeon = 2.5 pts
Striper = 5 pts

So... for example, your 31 inch yak-puller in your avatar would be worth 31 * 5 = 155 points.  I believe you can incude fractional inches into the equation.. for example, if your striper was 31 1/2 inches it would have been worth 31.5 * 5 = 157.5 points.  The points themselves seem to be set up such that a decent fish in any category will get you 150 pts.

For the overall standing, your total points is the sum of your best single fish in each category.  In other words, only one fish per species counts. With 10 species in the pool, a total score of 10 * 15 = 1500 would be quite an achievement.  I don't remember what Mooch ended up with last year, but I think he came close.

Bill correct me if I'm wrong, but I also believe that there are prizes for the largest fish in each species category.

Brian~ thnx for the breakdown!!

So dont enter a fish that is not "your" biggest. Right!

No, I believe you can enter as many fish as you want, but Bill's program will only count your largest fish in each category.

negative....you simply enter your biggest catch...and if you catch something even bigger, you can  delete your first entry and replace it with a current one. The points will total itself and update when necessary.

the system will allow you to enter as much as you want - so you need to be sure your deleting old entrys or else you end up with more points then you should have.

Bill - correct me if I'm wrong.....
