Went surf perch fishing this morning and caught a few stripers. The biggest was about 12 pounds.

I have gone halibut fishing 3 times in the last week. Can't seem to hook on to one. Anyone know where they are. Please tell me someone else is having luck!?!?

If your bored hit up the surf and get these big stripers

What beach are you catching the stripers?

I caught them at salmon creek. It's the beach with the dunes just north of Doran. No one fishes there so anything that hits the water fish go nuts.

Be prepared for that to change. Do you not like solitude?

lol it's true. I was at the beach yesterday in San Mateo and saw 2 huge striper being carried back to the parking lot.

Good job.

As for the others who asked if you like your solitude.  Should he not tell others where the fish are or is it only a problem if he posts in a public thread?

He can do whatever he wants. I'm just letting him know that posting "Hey, there's fish here! It's great! Noone ever fishes here!" is a good way for him to show up to 50 people fishing his spot and him wishing he hadn't said anything.

The Dillon striper bite was pretty much kept pretty quiet and there were still dozens of people on the beach within days of the first striper caught. The amount of trash left behind by people who would've never bothered stepping foot on the beach if not for a hot bite report was saddening.

I've only fished Salmon Creek a few times. There's much better fishing a bit north of there.

A few years ago, I wanted to prove that point to a guy. I posted that the stripers were stacked up at the lock at the Deep Water Channel in Sac. I posted this on the Fish Sniffer. Next morning, that wall looked like Nimbus!  :smt044 People lurk and pounce on our public reports.

There really isnt any secret fishing holes anymore, but it would not  hurt to keep somethings left unsaid. I have made promises in the past not to "out" some very good spots , but people find out anyway. So I learned to enjoy the good shit when you can and dont worry about the rest!
