Planning a winter trip.
I am interested in catching fat mackerels.
November/December time.
Can you guys recommend a spot between Sonoma to Montery? I will be carrying a freezer.

Weird post. Kayak or Boat? Specifying not only mackerel, but fat mackerel, at an off-peak time of year, you have high hopes. I'd be happy to catch anything in the winter time. It's hard to say where the mackerel will be in 3 months. Bring a sabiki.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Sorry. I thought they were fatter in winter. I was looking for some piers that produce macs. Thanks.

I don't think it was that far out there.  The way the water temps have been there may very well be macs hangin out in the Monterey bay. So many southies pushing that warm water up.

I wouldn't plan a trip around em though.  Now if hunboldt squid make an appearance.....

After a very long day at work today, I will take any kind of can.
I prefer one that contains beer.

If you want fat macs, you should fish for them now off the Santa Cruz Harbor.  They'll be good in your freezer till Nov or Dec.

Fishing for Macks was good all through the winter last year, and has stayed good ever since.  With the way water temps are this year, it wouldn't surprise me if it continues on into this winter.

I suggest catching them now, so you can duck hunt later! #itsbangtime

6. Still wondering why can't we delete our own threads?  Is it so people can drag it on and on and on.  Damn inter cloud thingy.
