Went to the delta tonight,  Cody said his yak was feeling squirrely and like he was dragging something. Got to the shore and yep, 20+ gallons of water in the hull  :smt013
Drained it and made way for the truck. Same when we got to the launch. Gotta put it on blocks n find the leak tomorrow instead of fishing. Great....

How old is the kayak Rich?
If there's been a lot of keel drag I'd check there first.
After looking all over and not finding it don't feel bad to tell everything the drain plug was loose.  :smt044 :smt044

Rich fill the inside up with a little bit of water, put some dish soap (Dawn or eq.) inside, shake it up and put a vacuum on blow in the drain plug. Your hull will blow bubbles where ever the hole is. I used this technique to find even the littlest leaks like rivets on eyelets.

Nice hole worn in the point of the stern keel. Bad spot, hoping I can fix it, if not, time for some new kayaks

Called it!  :smt003
Take some heat and plastic to it.
Then JB Weld a few layers for protection.

My keel on my T13 is a bit roughed up.

Planning to use a keel eazy so this doesn't happen.

Just glad it was at the delta and not miles out in the ocean!

Miles? I have not seen you more than 100 yards off shore. ;-)

True, since I started taking midget with me we hang pretty close, but we are starting to venture farther as he gets confidence. He keeps up the good work, he will be ready for salmon and wsb next year though. Jerk.  :smt008

I've been looking at buying this. Might work?

Same principle dentists use today to do fillings.
