got some PM's yesterday evening and I'm not real proficient with emails or pms I think I may have deleted them. I'm planning on leaving after work 3:30 or 4:30 and will be camping at kamper coral with my party of bank maggots near the fish cleaning station. no cell phone reception so I'll look at the board in Eureka. I'm in a grey Chevy Astro with a Hank Parker colored hobie outback. my name is Jon but you can call me jonesz. looking forward to hooking up with some of you yakers so I can mix it up a bit. safe travels for all driving the long trek

See ya up there Jonesz . Looks like its Camper Coral . Keep an eye out for ya. Silver Honda crv with yellow hobie. Should be there bright and early Thursday morning. Allen says your " The Man ". Glad I spoke with Allen. Almost forgot my salmon and steelhead punch card. :smt009

Good luck up there Alex!  Lower K can be fun when it's not uber-crowded.  If you launch above Blakes, push upstream through the first hole and up into the next run/riffle (Starwein).  Bounce roe tight against the north bank of the Starwein riffle.  And hang on  :smt004.

Also bring a light spinning rod for swinging spinners for halfpounders!  Copper-bladed Mepps spinners and gold-bladed Panther Martins can take you far on steelies in the riffles.

Thank you much Clayman for the advise. Will return the favor if your in the Monterey bay area.

My father's final wish was to have his ashes spread in the river, and that is where I laid him (under the 101 bridge) where the golden bears will watch over him.

I've seen several actual bears there over the years.  Your dad picked a great spot :)

We were always glad to see the Golden bears when we were kids. We knew we were there .  :smt007

Really wish I could join you. My father also brought me annually to stay a "Dad's Camp" which used to be on the south of the mouth. Great memories from those trips including my first salmon back when I was 8. My father's final wish was to have his ashes spread in the river, and that is where I laid him (under the 101 bridge) where the golden bears will watch over him.
Can't make it this year, but will be an annual trip once the move is over.
Good luck, and thanks for bringing back great memories
;0)

Beautiful place to be laid to rest. Sure your Dad is smiling down on you for such a beautiful deed.
There was also a festival this time of year at Dads camp that we would attend and it was all you could eat smoked salmon after that.

LOL looks like the sturgeon I used to buy in the 90's from the gillnetters.

The thing I remember the most about that sturgeon was that the flesh was this pink color almost like a light colored pork chop. No bull. Was the best tasting fish that didn't taste like fish I ever had. And the grunion fried hole in a egg batter.  :smt007

Hope ta see ya up ther Mako !!

Just found the most important part of equipment, my coffee pot

Had a GREAT time in Klamath till sunday afternoon. Time went by soooo fast. Just got home . Just a few pics till later. Such a beautiful place. Ended up doing some combat fishing and kayaking fishing. ( More like exploring for next year ) I dreaded the combat fishing in the beginning, but what a great group of guys weather your novice or experienced. People can lose tempers for a second. I honestly do mean a second. It really is heat of the battle and very exciting. I would do it again !!! Met some great guys out there for the first time that welcome you easily , once they feel your genuine . Broke bread with some great guys that I hope to see next year !!!

Was up last week it was just starting to go off ! good luck and have, I love the lower Klamath. Locals dug the mouth straight when I was there so it should be wide open now.

You have a twin up there Midwest ! Talked to some guy that was at the dock at Anglers on the north shore. Looked just like you ????

Went up on Saturday around 3-4ish to see if I could catch ya at the campgrounds but didn't find you. At least I got to scout out the river a bit and see some setups. Seems pretty straight forward with the glen being a good spot to launch and go from there.

closest word I could think of to describe it would be epic. stopped by Arcada do drop off 8 or so pounds with my daughter and her family then stopped in Ukiah to drop off another 10 pounds at my brothers house. now I'm camped in front of the vacuum sealer to take care of last 20 plus pounds. Alex good to meet you up there and the surprised we found each other with all the people and carnage. will try to post later with some pics when they're sent to me.
