I remember the old Hurricane SOT yaks and they always seemed cool due to the lightweight & rigid construction.
But I was at MBK yesterday and noticed they sell Hurricane brand now. They had a Hurricane Skimmer 116 and 140 and 140T on display. They looked pretty rad. And at 50lbs...I'm definitely interested in learning more.

I've got a Hurricane Phoenix 120 that's about 6 years old. That one was not really designed for fishing, and it was a work in progress in a lot of ways. But the new models look interesting. I think the seat looks especially nice:

They might be good competition for Eddyline...

If you have any specific questions I can pass it up the line since Native and Hurricane are the same company now.

So I just got off the phone with the new sales rep for Native for CA, and he's been with Hurricane for a while.  He's excited about the opportunity we have here in Norcal for fishing, and would be happy to answer any questions about the Hurricane kayaks.  We'll work on trying to put together some sort of seminar or demo for Native, Hurricane and LiquidLogic boats sometime this year or next.  Please let me know anything that you'd like to see made available.

Hurricane boats are great paddling boats, and the new Skimmers are supposedly very quick and lightweight.  Quite a few stores up in Norcal carry them so feel free to go in and check them out.
