Last weeks efforts for along shot WSB try. I gave a couple trys for a long shot, and came up with some halls instead. I also hooked one of those frigging angel sharks that instantly took me into one of my other lines. I was using three rods at the time I hooked it. Normally I just cut the leader and don't even deal with em, but with the other line wrapped up in the mess was coming from the opposite side. I was afraid a panic run might break a rod, so I opted to deal with it. O2B radios me and asks if I need a hand, then he comes back with "an angle shark? your on your own, don't want anything to do with that sh*t!"  :smt005 Thanks Bud  :smt002 So I get it on board and it's sitting there a few moments while I'm getting my line snips ready for some extensive line surgery, and all of a sudden it lashes out and clamps onto my knee! It doesn't move so I look at the situation and one of my hooks is buried through my waders. As it sits there like a pit bull with a throat grip I carefully start snipping every line I could find. I then pulled the hook out, all the while he's just clamped on my leg, but it's not getting through to me. My biggest concern was him ripping a gapping hole in my waders. By the time I cut all the lines he relaxed his grip, and I was able to carefully remove him with out any further damage. Then I flopped him back over the side. The waders faired pretty well considering. Through it all I forgot to take a pic...so "it didn't happen"  :smt002 After that we continued to drift back in with the tide. Listening to tule elk bugle in the background and watching the finder just cloud up with bait. We had a very peaceful drift back. I managed two 30" hails that day, and then I went again a couple days later and landed one more. The freezer  is well stocked now. Here's a couple pics of the consolation prizes. Day 1, day two.

Not a bad consolation catch! The angel shark, how big was it?
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Great focus and cool head, Glyn! I'm glad it finished without any more damage to you or your equipment. Oh, yeah and a very cool consolation prize set.

Too funny!  Like a freakin pit bull, yeah?

And I love the "You're on your own" comment.  OTB is probably the funniest yak angler in NorCal.

Congrats on the twin flatties.

Trust Me...the "you're on your own" comment is out of personal experience!! I caught two monstrous ones the week before and wanted NOTHING to do with any more :smt002

I wish I would have paddled over  for amusement after watching Glynn drag the demon dawg onto his kayak.

So sorry you had to eat that nasty Halibut instead of awesome White Sea Bass. I'd be happy to take that awful fish off your hands  :smt002  :smt003 :smt044
