I was gifted this kayak yesterday from our homeowner. He said it was the first of its kind to paddle the Monterey bay in 1968. I haven't done any research on it yet but thought it would be cool to paddle rivers and such. Pretty light and in hgreat shape. He also gave me a life jacket that looks more like a bullet proof vest. :smt044. The kayak is a perception.

I think I tried one of those or one very much like it with that distinctive rounded shape. Very tippy.

That is a cool score Andy!

I think I did WW roll class in one of those,  an old perception something-something. Pointy ended thing.

get a good skirt for it & it would probably be a blast in the surf zone or rock garden.

I think that it might be called the "dancer". They were a popular river boat in the 80s.
There was pin striping and DANCER on the side but I think this could be an older version.
I can see edges in the plastic that could be the pin striped lines on the 80s dancer.
If you can invest in some inflatable floatation for the hull, it will make a day playing in waves more enjoyable.
Enjoy and please document.
