EK, That part of R&D is handled. I think I need to move onto the next project like a nice Salmon or something of that nature....

I agree entirely... you're quite the trooper.

Z... glad it arrived safe and sound.

Still waiting on someone to actually stick something with one of these.

Frank has tested the floating a couple times now  :smt002

Ride123, Sackyak, Potto, and Sailfish... they'll be done this week.

My wife told me the gaff arrived yesterday.  I'm currently in New York on a business trip until end of April.  Can't wait to see my new gaff!!!

Thanks EK

I got mine on Thursday but it has been crazy since then.  It is really nice and light (easy to swing into a big one).  I can not wait to use it.  Thanks Erik (and Constance, she paid for it as a birthday present)!

Hi EK,

Ben here - Nice job on the gaffs. If NCKA goes with #5 on the logo can this be added instead of the skull?

Has any tried using these gafs as a fish whacker? Just curious about the weight. Are they heavy enough towards the  pokey end? I'm stocking up on gear right now for my first kayak and want to make sure it is multi-functional.

Thanks,

I bet if you smacked it hard enough with the rounded end of the hook that it would work.  But then again you would have to un-gaff the fish first, and start whaling on him.  I haven't used mine yet in this way, but was thinking that I can first gaff, the apply the lip-gripper, then smack away.  But my gaff is no where near as cool as these :)

I have used it as a fish bat. works great.  like ALs said I just use the back of the hook and smack' em right between the eyes on the head.three or four swift whacks seemed to work on the lings, might need a few more for a hali' Hopefully I'll get to find out soon.  Plenty of leverage with the gaff to get a good swing.
