Hey guys I'm looking for ideas on good camping locations in the north Cal for my family Sunday 8/16 thru Thursday 8/20. I will have a kayaks with me and looking for a nice lake with good trout fishing somewhere between Redding and Del Norte Mill Creek campground. We're a family of 4 with Outbacks and going to be tent camping and bringing our bikes. Please let me know if you know of any good campgrounds in this part of your great state.
Thanks!

Be aware of a lot of smoke and potential fire.
Maybe Big lagoon, Gold bluff beach?

Tough to beat Lake Siskiyou if you're gonna take I-5

Fish Lake might work.  Its remote in NE Humboldt County.  From Highway 101 take Bald Hills road from near Orick to Weitchpec, head east on 96 for a few miles to the turnoff.  Its about 7 miles up a forest service road.

It has been pretty smoky, not sure how it will be in a couple weeks.

Other options are Lake Siskiyou if you take I-5, Whiskeytown just outside of Redding, and Applegate Lake in Oregon near Medford.
