Launching at the beach at China Camp, next to Rat Rock.

On the map in the park brochure, it is called "China Camp Beach".

http://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/466/files/ChinaCampBrochure.pdf

Iwindsurf.com predicts mild winds from the SW... NOAA predicts moderate (5-15) moving from SE in the AM to SW in the PM.

In other words, we won't know what the wind is going to do until we get out there.  If it is windy at all, SW would not be too bad.

See you in the AM.

China Camp = Easier Launch and while muddy at 0 tide, is not quite as muddy as bullhead.

Get grass shrimp or ghost shrimp.  Ghost shrimp may still be hard to come by but there should be a few to be had.

Get plenty to last the afternoon.  Last time I bought a pound of grass shrimp and had about 1/2 pound left over when I caught my dino and donated the rest to Mooch.

See you in the AM.

If its too windy, I would suggest Black point, lots of stuff to block the wind, the bridge, the trestle, and all along the east shore of the Pet r.is pretty protected as well. Bait shop, beer and snacks...

Hey Guitarzan,

Are you talking about launching right under the HWY 37 bridge over the Petaluma River?  That bait shop right there is funky cool.  Where do you paddle out to?  I used to launch there in a PB; we'd always end up at the Pumphouse... that'd make for one long day on the kayak!

Sounds like China camp for fri, but Black point is a good local spot too, good for when its windy or raining, I just heard a guy in a pb today who talked of an old chanel coming out of bel marin keys he says it allways holds fish. Go out at Black point and go west at the bay and its that-a-way about a mile. I might head for that in the morn. I'll talk to 'yall either way on ch 69, should be able to transmit/ recieve. Ben
