Great place to beat the heat, light wind low 90s on the water, surface water temp 79.  Saw most fish on the finder below 15 feet mostly at 25-35' . Caught a few tiny small mouth bass but mostly just enjoyed  getting out and taking a swim in a cove every now and then to beat the heat for 4 hours.

For me that lake is a great swimming lake,we use to in my(20s)drink beer and jump off the rock there at the split.as far as fishing that's a different story
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Wow, brings back some good memories fishing and wind surfing there 10 years ago when I lived in San Ramon.  It was always the most scenic lake around, with plenty of trout, catfish, bass.  Even if you get skunked, it's always good for the soul just to breathe in that wilderness.
Great pics Buzz, you captured the beauty of Del Valle spot on.

Family and I have spent many days hanging out at DV. We never did any good fishing there,  but lots of  great memories.

That's a great way to stay cool Buzz. Kayak fish and swim. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah..  Last time I was there. The south banks had people wrapped around it. from the dock to around the west side. It was crazy how many people fish there.

That's where all the trout lives.  I banked fish there around Feb. March.   Water is a bit colder and mot much people there. Easy limit of trout.  One time I had my chair out. Didnt even have a chance to finish my beer or sit and relax. Limited in 30 minutes. Couple guys 20 feet from me caught 1 fish after a few hours. I caught extra and gave them a few.  One of those times, I get lucky. And it does not happen a lot either.  Id go there more often on the kayak but hate to deal with the boat inspection ordeal. It be worth it if there were more fish biting in the north end.

Nice.  Water level looks decent, even.  Will have to go again once we re-up the EBRPD passes.
