Kingii: A Wristband Emergency Flotation Device

Has any one seen this yet? Def not as good as self-inflating vest but its pretty neat.

It probably has some legit applications but won't replace a pfd.

So... will it autoinflate after a prolonged submersion?  Because then it would really be useful in finding the bodies.      

I guess the makers never learned emergency water survival... like how to inflate your clothing.  Then again, if you're unconscious, you can't inflate your clothes.  Oh, that's where the Kingii would be... oh wait.   

I like the autoinflating fishing rod flotation device better.

I doubt people will remember to youse it in a panic situation.  Likely used if fatigue sets in. 

Especially if people strap it on and never used it over and over again for muscle memory.

I think its a good idea actually, and hope it does well and saves some lives.  Not sure if i would use it, seems a little uncomfortable on the wrist for me, I'd rather just wear the PFD.

Strap that mofo to the butt of your Gloomis rod!

If it auto inflated it would be good for rods.  I bought one of these things once, but have never had the guts to put it on a rod and toss it overboard to see if it would work:

But in looking up the Key Buoy, I came across this as well:

And it looks a bit more promising for floating a rod.    Priced right too.  Some demo video's on YouTube.

OK I should've read the whole ad...thought it was auto-inflating.
That water buoy thingy is sweet. Now to figure out if any of my SW combos are under 2.2lbs! (will probably need 2 water buoys)

Watched a couple more video's, some guys were trying them out for their R/C drones.  At depths past 10ft it looks inefective due to too much pressure, it doesn't seem to inflate all the way.  So if your rod sank away slow enough for it to deploy (20 seconds) it might do the trick.
