Well, I made it thru hunting season!!!

I am scheduled for back surgery on 3/15/17. Out patient procedure. Same disc repair surgery I had six years ago, just on the ones above the last ones lol. L4+L3 this time, and opening up the channel for the sciatic nerve some.
Had appnt with the Pancreas doc today, that is stable. No increase in frequency of symptoms. We can't do anything until my back surgery is done and I have recovered. Medication is doing its job, so we are staying at the current dosages for the foreseeable future unless things change.
My surgery recovery is expected to be 6-8 weeks. Last time I was remodeling my girlfriends basement a week after discharge. I don't think I will bounce back, quite so fast this time ;)

Mom n dad are riding the train out and back, planning on spending a week. When they get back, dad has eye surgery! So, not sure if being here to help me is going to take his mind off things, or make him anxious? He is a big pussy lol.

Good chance I can make it and be present at Shelter Cove, that's my goal, but no way in heck I will be ready to fish.

Finally up n at it from back surgery. They did a little more work than planned so they held me over night.
Got home and flopped into my Lazyboy recliner. Felt great, worst move of my adult life. I could not get out with assistance even on each side. Kinda freaked out and tried horsing thru, nah, a stiff wind from a mouse fart planted me back into the chair.
Waited for dad to go smoke a cig. Mom was a nurse, so she coached Jo calmly thru helping and supporting me as I rolled up and slid forward. Easy peasy.... Hit the bed and took pain meds to catch up and balance out. Woke up in extreme pain! So stiff I could shatter! Took a long overdue pain pill and eventually balanced out. I dislike pain meds.
Today was pretty good! Got up and around the house with my new ride!!
Got to start "food" so mom made me toast and scrambled eggs!
Whenever you have been on a restrictive diet, the firsts home cooked thing is always the best! #scrambledeggs

Was up and around frequently, felt pretty good. Didn't want to over do it.
Ended up with laminectomy of L5, L4, S1.
They opened the channel on the right side for the sciatic nerve.
Trimmed off som bone on the vertebrae knuckles where they roll together.
Lookin forward to getting stronger everyday!

Nice ride!
Was that the nexus or just a happy coincidence?
FWIW...TAKE IT EASY!
Give the work the docs did a chance to recover. You will be better off in the long run.
This time off will give you a chance to improve on your sketches.  :smt044

I have follow up with the surgeon today. Pretty excited, I am feeling really good. Of course I am still in pain and crappy mobility, but I'm mobile! Everyday, little farther down the street.
Back to lovin on my woman, so I guess I can quit asking for sympathy because there are those, healthy, not gettin any lovin ;)
I am tentatively scheduled to return to work on the 17th of April. Comin fast!
In the mean time...a guy might as well go soak bait, right!?
Anyone wanting to meet up in the delta or lake to do just that, I will be there! #itsbangtime

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!
