Nurse suggested a bubble too. lol
Cody and I were talking about all of this, and I told him I do not regret it. Other than the drinking part, but even then, it gave me life experiences that made me into the man that I am. All the rough stuff I used to do, it was fun, and I whole heartedly did not expect to live to be 35. Well, my warranty has expired by 7 years, so I guess at the least, I got my money out of the tread. I plan on running on the slicks for a while longer haha

Not seeing much difference between you now and the first time we met at Albion; falling, stumbling. Not saying the Tiki bar had anything to do with it.......... :smt002

I had an L3 S1 when I was about your age. The disc shave will not take that long (about 6-7 weeks) The fusion part I'm no help for. Don't know.  Best of luck on that my friend!

I had a bone shave and laminectomy in 2009, I was remodeling my GF's house a week after surgery. Dumb as hell, but I could not sit when there was demolition to be done!

My father in law had fusion cervical vert. just last Spring.  and was up and about in three days.  Riding his bike (against my advice) that next week.

Prednisone is reduced to 10 mg/day  :smt006
Had a scan last week that showed consistent shrinkage.

I had back injections about three weeks ago. They say surgery is imminent. I am out of fmla, so trying to push the surgery off until after the first of the year-fmla resets. Last back surgery was really a Band-Aid, and they told me that then. The Dr mentioned fusion and some other stuff, I am sure I will have a more detailed run down as we exhaust some of the non-surgical options first. This also allows me to build up some more leave credits.
Kinda sucks though, not being able to get out and go like I am used to. Been trying to bring the fight to the birds, walking out to the rice field tank blind Sunday almost killed me! Sean kept asking me, "Why are you here?" All I told him was, "Because the specks are here!" & "I have a boy that wants to hunt!" I paid for it yesterday in spades lol.

I am hoping to get the most out of this season with my son, he is growing so dang fast, and I see the end of our time together coming the faster he grows.
Just hope I can put surgery off until AFTER late goose...(March in Pit River Mills) recover in March, April, May, June, and back in time for July to build leave time for hunting Montana in November! Got it all planned out!

Play hard, age early.  I firmly believe in that.  I'm the same way as you, sitting still to heal up was never my strong point, and I paid for it at times in the past.

It sounds like you know your limits and have bumped the rev limiter a few times already.  There is no shame in throttling back.  Heal up and roll on.

They have some nice disabled access duck blinds on Grizzly Island. You should check those out, they are in some prime locations.

I refuse to get a handicapped placard or tard card for my window. Same with those blinds, save those for the ones that truly cannot go any other place.
Even this last weekend, walking out to Sean's blind, I had to stop twice, take a knee, and puked once. But I am able to get there, just have to want to...

I really don't see why you would have an issue with using these spots since it definitely sounds like you are almost handicapped. Yea I understand you want to feel like you are in control and can do everything they way you once did but in reality you can't. Asking for help or using these spots doesn't define you as a tard but if used correctly can help those that can't get so easily to use it for what is meant to be. So many people do abuse them but I would much rather see someone who is a true sportsman and cannot easily hike to spots they once could. I guess if I had the choice between breaking my body down by hiking to remote spots and not being able to walk the next few days or taking advantage of places that offer you to experience the hunt a easily get in and out without the discomforts of being down for the next 2 days. Like who in the heck is even going to see that you are using it? Sometimes ignorance gets in the way of reason. Just saying.
