Reading all the past comparisons on which Hobie for which type of use can just fry the brain.  I have been back and forth on which one I wanted so many times that I had to keep putting it off. Then I heard the new seats were going to be the bomb for 2015., so I waited a little longer.  I do get neck, back and shoulder pains while kayaking so a seat that could minimize that just sounded like a must have.

I really do appreciate everyone's input on why the one they use is the best.  After testing a few different kayaks and spending more time in the water than on it I had to do some serious thought about the subject.  I decided stability had to be my main focus.  Even after I decided that I still wanted speed and maneuverability.  That's were the doubt came in.

So I started to put together the racks, front bumper hitch and goal post so I could travel with the kayak and my fifth wheel.  Right up to the last minute I was giving myself doubt on which one would be better.  So I went to the store and just bought a 2015 Outback.  Didn't even have to pick a color as there was only one available and that's the one I got.  I am sure I will make it work for me.  I have not dove off one yet but will get out and practice until it is comfortable.  I want to catch a salmon off it but think I will be diving more than anything and need re-entry to be easier.

Hope to expand my fishing grounds and provide beneficial reports.

Stay tuned

Congrats on the Outback!  It'll definitely have the stability and room for you as a diving platform.  And it's super nice to be able to troll around with a sandwich in one hand and a drink in the other.  :smt003

It's a light pink special edition.  Sweet ride.  I am ready to try it out.  Still convinced the salmon bite will hit as soon as I leave on my trip.

Congrats. For diving I bet the outback is the best choice. My Revo13 wasn't the easiest to re-board.

The 2015 Outback is an outstanding fish killing machine, go get 'em.

The only time you'll be disappointed is if you get into a race with a Revo 13.    :smt003

Slow and steady wins the race.  Or just don't race and enjoy the fishing.

Was invited kayak fishing today but passed so I could get familiar with the new kayak.  I practiced some ocean re-entries and it was harder than my old kayak but I did manage to get back in with some effort.  It's so much easier with fins but I didn't bring any with me so I tried without them.  Once I felt comfortable I took it on a couple mile sight seeing trip.  Oh man the water was so clear in spots at this point I wanted to go diving and wished I brought my gear.  Oh well there is always tomorrow.  I knew if I brought fishing gear I would have been distracted so I didn't.  The info from the self rescue class at TC last year kicked in and I was able to try different methods of re-entry.  So now I think I got a good idea on where to put equipment so it will not interfere with self rescues or re-entry after intentional dips in the ocean.

I also tried out my new to me Kokatat suit and it didn't leak at all.

So far I am impressed with this kayak and my back never felt so good while kayaking.

It will take awhile to set it up the way I want it, but feel comfortable taking it out further from shore than I have ever done in the past.

Time to fish.
