A bunch of shark attacks in north and south carolina in the last few weeks and a total of 15 attacks in 2015 already by early June.  Whats going on and what can us kayak anglers do to protect or prevent shark attacks?

Here is a shark kayak capsizing just out.

Some of the attacks are quite scary though for beach goers.

That's a stretch to say the shark capsized his kayak. And that one was easily preventable; don't fish for large sharks.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

I would bet the attacks off the Carolinas were bull sharks. Fortunately, they aren't any on the West Coast.

The guy on the kayak was just bungling.

Uhhhh....the drag lever is located on the right-hand side of your reel.......

We have caught bigger sharks than that without flipping.  And from a Prowler 13 not the ultra-stable Predator.  I wonder if this guys is related to the giant grouper guy in Florida? They both sorta scream the same.  As Mooch would say "Like a little girl."

And I wondered if that grouper vid was a setup as well......

Still just being on a kayak with a fish that big is an accomplishment, no matter how you get there.

bushy

ps they don't say what kind of bait he was using, but I think I spied a mullet on one of the PB's.
