New Kayak Fisherman

Hey Everyone,
New Kayaker and finally getting back into fishing.  I am planning on trolling the Northern Sierra Lakes.  Once I feel comfortable, I would love to hit the ocean and trying my luck out there.  Any advice on kayak setup or fishing tips are greatly accepted!
