I've always wanted to attend this show and checkout your work. I LOVE the look of that perch piece...got any more pics of it?
And one day I want to commission a 'Cove Life' piece.

Bump to keep this in the collective consciousness.
July 25-26, 11-6 Saturday & Sunday.
There will be two American Tribal Style belly dance performances on our stage at 3pm each day.

I should have 4-5 gaffs available, plus a harpoon and kage (some water time but never used) as part of the show.

pics of the kage here:
http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=45293.msg500750#msg500750

the harpoon is built to match, but has a longer reach and a SS slip tip dart attached to a 900lb SS cable leader.

In the works is a large piece enticingly titled "Ghost Moon, with squid".

I don't know about watching you do a belly dance, but the rest sounds great!

Saturday and Sunday 11-6. Map is on the first post in this thread. Go fish and then cruise up to the Doon and say hi.

here's the anchor piece for my show,  a little design that came to me out of the blue (moon) :

thankee buddy!
In the end, I'm happy enough to walk around my yard and be surrounded by it, so it is a win-win for me, sales or no sales.

we had our friend's kids over last week, and the 9 year old asked "why are there so many fish on the walls, and outside?"
my wife's earnest reply was , "Well, you know Sean has the fish Madness..." :smt005

guilty as charged, no contest. :smt001

Gaffs are done!
the middle four are built with mustad hooks and white cedar handles, and should all float.
the top & bottom gaffs are hand bent SS hooks, with the top being white cedar and the bottom being natural redwood. All are finished with multiple coats of marine varnish. The corks are temporary, each gaff will have a clear tubing point cover like the one at the bottom of the pic.

Tiny has first choice :smt005 Told you I would try & hook you up bruddah!

what a weekend it was!
lots of cool folks, and basically a house party for me that started Friday afternoon and lasted until midnight last night.

The weather was fantastic for chillin in the garden with a cold beverage. Also, lots and lots of fish talk.
I think I explained how gaffs work about 100 times to lubbers who had never seen one. There were a few horrified looks from Santa Cruz PETA types, but I made sure to specify that the gaffs were only used on fish that would be eaten.

I sold a few pieces and got lots of ideas for new ones.

Thanks to NCKA'ers  GB2 Scott, Snapperhead Bill, Tiny, and Matt for coming up with their wives to support us. Good times guys.

Extra thanks to Bill for transporting the precious Albion awards to the event.

Awesome!!

Glad you had a great time!!

I tried to convince Ana that we should go up on Saturday, but she wanted to spend our last weekend alone (girls fly back tonight from Honduras) together and chilling.  :smt004

Congrats on a successful event!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim
