Recently returned from a visit with a buddy up in Mariposa Co. I brought some dirt back from a dried up creek bed.  After a few pans,  pictured is the gold I've recovered.   :smt002  It's not gonna pay my mortgage off, but its sure fun uncovering the gold in the pan!  I have a Rubbermaid tub I filled, and it's down maybe a 1/3.  so I have still have some paydirt to pan! :smt007
Sadly my reroof project has started so I won't be able to pan the whole thing this weekend.
Sad to say, I've got more gold out of this tub of dirt than I ever did in the years I panned with my dad as a kid.  :smt010
I am using his plastic pan to do the work now though!

That's good looking stuff. Gotta love it when you get into the chunky instead of the old flattened out flakes!

That's good looking gold. It's fun to bring it home and pan it at your leisure. Many hours of enjoyment.

You need to go back and do some more prospecting, as it looks promising!

Well, I finally panned through the whole tub.  Every pan I did had some gold in it!  I was hoping my last pan would be the best, but sadly it wasn't.  It had a few gold flecks.  The pan pictured was my best pan with size and quantity.  The vial shows the haul.  I'm going to pan through the tailings again, or maybe set up my little sluice and go through the dirt one more time, before I add the dirt to our garden.  Just need to figure out how to employ my little sluice and keep the dirt contained.   I'll be using a 12V water pump and just keep cycling the water from catchment back to the pump, through sluice, into the catchment. Repeat!
It was fun and relaxing to pan dirt in my driveway.
