Does anyone have any ocean cove specific safety tips? Dangerous areas, tide or current concerns etc. I will be fishing with a line counter so I'm not worried about depth restrictions. Any suggestions for people that might not be using a line counter?

the only dangerous condition I have ever dealt with here is dealing with a big  north swell coming in on a low tide , got tore up big time this year but probably shouldn't have even gone out but it was opening weekend. 95% of time no issues.

There's a couple small boiler rocks I noticed on Monday but they're pretty obvious.  The OC is really a great place to fish!

Really? Like he doesn't do enough already? Craig Davis on behalf of the Albion Open has just donated this awesome pair of Smith shades. I said thanks and I'll be sure to hit you back for the next Albion and he straightened me right out. He said "No need to, It's for Brent". Thanks Craig, you're alright.

Nice! I've been rockin' my pair of Smith's that I won at Albion last year recently.

The person I talked to said they've never sold out after labor day.

Im planning to get there at like 10pm on Friday night, since im going straight from work. I would really love to have a campsite, or a place to park (sleep in car), im sure they are closed during that time for any checkins and What not.  How would u go about doing so such late at night? Perhaps someone can let me share with their site or parking? Im only going to stay one night btw. Any advice will be much appreciated.

You could give them a call. I think they might have after hours registration.

They do have after hour registration, IT IS WAKE YOUR ASS UP IN THE MORNING TO SEE YOUR Damn Tag!

Don't call if you have never been here just show up and pay them the next morning when you do check in. You are too busy thinking to much about this, Just start thinking about fishing instead!

Don't even trip. OC is hella chill. They will put a tag on your car and you pay when you get off the water.
