My first HOW event was a blast and an honor.  I managed to get a couple of bass, but couldn't get the fish to bite for my two new friends, Mark and Jessie.  They still had a blast and just loved chilling on the water.  They even managed to soak each other with paddle fight on the way in.

Amazing day at Lodi Lake.

An awesome group of people . . . and the volunteers were pretty good, too!

Special thanks to Dan & crew (again) for all their hard work and Eelkram for taking control of launch command.
That said, no single person can pull this off by himself - it takes a whole team to make it happen, from heading it up to planning to check-ins; food & gear, set-up to clean-up - all the HOW volunteers are the best. Glad to be a part of this one.

Just a couple pics:

First of all,

I just got say, y'all just don't know how brave you all were to sign up for this one. It was Big, we served many warriors, families and friends, well over a 100 and I believe 98 waivers signed… uh, special note right there…

Carrie and the Weirmarin Crew kicking Butt on the Front Desk like a well oiled machine was so incredible and just one of the different logistics we had going that killed it...

Kayakjack and Crew, Amazing Production of home style cooked food on the road… set up for a Chorizo breakfast tacos in the morning, planning on a 150 people or so… serve, turn it all around and get Delectable BQ Chicken and Truly Awesome GIANTS Dogs…  Unbelievable and Hats off to you and your crew Jack…

Launch Command and the hard work on the dock and water…

Piski & eelkram, I just can't say enough… I do not know what your system was or what you guys did, but it was Outstanding…!!!

I know there were concerns with keeping everyone safe with the river on the other side, and I was so grateful to be able to give all of that responsibility over to you guys and your crew. I felt very relaxed watching you guys in action and was really able to let go of basically everything and play questionable music on my PA…  I was toast…   :sleepy3:

Most of you know what my prior week was like,

I was and I still am, so grateful for Everyone doing such an Amazing Job…

So why were we so Brave you ask?     Well…  I tested the waters on this one a bit to see what we could handle. Many had requested a large event and with Dan's facilities and resources, it's our best chance to see just what kind of numbers we can handle.

We did incredibly well, and handled the crowed we had with extreme ease,,, very smooth, and I think even if the other

Two Bus Loads of Vets had shown… close to 80 more participants or more, we still would have made it work,

 but everyone would have been twice as tired…  :sleepy3: :sleepy3: :sleepy3: :sleepy3:

So, as it is, We served a lot of Warriors and their families, we flexed a bit of NCKA Mussel to show what we can do, and we have some pretty good stats of what we did yesterday ( Thanks Again Carrie!!! )  to help us and other HOW chapters across the Nation do a better job at planning for these large events.

As it is,

I just think we just made the template…

Strong Work Once Again y'all     :smt006

The last shot of my Truck and trailer, I wish I had stepped back a bit…  you would have seen my trailer all packed up with kayaks and gear…

along side 3 other HOW volunteer vehicles with their trailers and gear…

Oh ya, we need a Trailer, and it's Very Close,,,

I think RacinRacidRob Already has it in his sights…   :smt007

First Shot Here… Uhmm…

  Too Cute for words….
