Catching lings isn't rocket science.  Find structure and drop down something big to entice them.  You have a fishfinder?

I use a combination of swimbaits, scampis, and irons.  Just picked up some octopus baits and Spro bucktail jigs that I'll be trying also.

Undecided if we'll be showing up late Friday or early Saturday.

Should be fun!  Hopefully the seas cooperate.  Probably should check that out.

Use any frozen fish for bait- herring mackerel chovies sardines etc  and you'll get a ling!

Don't over think it dude, guitarzan used to throw out Barbie dolls and craftsman wrenches!  If the kings are biting, you'll probably catch a dozen.......might try some procure squid or herring gel.....

TC was my first Ocean trip just a few weeks ago.  landed 3 rock cod including a canary, know what you have to throw back.  I used Cod Jigs and Squid bait.  Caught on both.

Be sure to have enough weight to get it to the bottom, especially if theres a little wind. At least a couple ounces of lead (jig-head or dropper) usually does the trick.

I'm not all that adept at finding and reading swell reports but based on what I've found, it doesn't look good.  Will have to do more research later.

I would definitely advise not going to timber cove with the predicted 10-11.5 ft swell expected for this weekend.. Sunday will be more nasty than Saturday with up to 20 mph winds! Yikes.. Stay safe everyone

^So then I wasn't that far off base.  I couldn't believe my eyes and thought I might have been reading it wrong.  Guess I wasn't.  Thanks AAYO.

By the way, how do we address you AnnieAreYouOkay?

Plan B, Sierra Mountains I guess.
