Just wondering if anyone has put a flush mount/down rigger behind the seat on the revo? Looks a bit angled but looks like it might work? I love working the DR behind the seat.
Hesitant on using the gear track for a down rigger.

Well I just ordered  a couple of 8" and 12" gt90 rails. Come to think about it Im not sure why I ordered the 12"  I plan on mounting them in the front gunrails.. Maybe just seeing so many photo's of it on Google image.  I dont plan to mount anything up front at this time.   Maybe lust to move the FF closer so I can actually see the screen, on the left side.  :smt012

Im more excited of the game clips I ordered with the purchase.

Anyhow.. It is pretty pricy for some aluminum.   When I first looked into it I saw prices were fair.. But it turns out those were the plastic yakattack rails.   Ill post pictures after I install them incase others are interested.

I have the 8" gt90's in the front right now and plan to swap those out for the 12".  In my opinion 12" would be nice up front and 8" ones in the back.

Yeah.. That is the plan..  I was going to get 4" for the rear and 8 for the front; but thought I may want to add additional items or switch in the future. Giving it a bit more versatility.   Same goes for the reason I ordered the 12" for the front.  I figure I would order now and save on shipping instead of later.

With my 8" I can have my downrigger mounted but there isnt much room leftover for my camera mount.

If you put your DR behind your seat you increase your chances of getting tangled in your rudder.  I witnessed this at a GS event.  The DR line got tangled on his Revo 13s rudder.  Conditions were snotty and kayak became unresponsive.  He tried working his way out of his seat back to the rudder.  He rolled his kayak.  Thankfully he came out OK. I mounted my DR inside my Revo 13 left side pocket.  Its out the way and works fine.

At least for now i dont plan on a down rigger.  Unless its is prudent that i need it for a particular fish.  I got  a deep 6 diver i have not used yet.

I really dont even need the left rail at this moment.  But it just seems off to install on only one side.

Hey Mel, can you take a picture of where you mounted it?  I'd like to see it.  Thanks!

I'm interested in how you did that. Any more info? What downrigger is that? How do you like that set up?

Optional but highly suggested for easily rod holder adjustment: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/10239/Scotty-Slip-Discs-415-Pair.html

Mel,

I like the size of that DR.  Ill keep that in mind if I ever need to troll. The line cap says its 100 feet.   Is it usable in ocean; for say salmon?

BTW.. For people interested in no drilling option.   The gimple rod holder I ordered does not fit snug for my revo. It will go back.

Those LakeTroller DR are nice.  Switch out the cable to a braided line & you can hold more if needed.  Not sure I would want much more than 3-4# on it & any deeper than 100', with 3-4# you may encounter an increased angle to the line unless you are really slow trolling for Kokes or something.  Good, easy to use DR though.
