I know there is 1,000 write ups on making this but here is my little project: picked up and inexpensive extendable aluminum paint pole from Home Depot. I am going to modify it to accept and lock into the Scotty base. Here is where I am at so far.

also get a float door + noodle foam in case you drop it in the water
