Fished out of there last July. Had less than pleasant encounters with locals and haole alike, weird place. I also saw a >15' tiger shark inside the harbor so on top of traffic, assholes, homophobes, and mooring buoys it just isn't anywhere that I'd think to just jump on in.

Sad story.

Billfish in general will f%~k you up big time with their bills.
I would even be hesitant to catch one off of a yak.
