The family & extended family want to go fishing on Saturday.  Past postings make it seem like Del Valle is a tough spot to fish, especially from shore.

Any recommendations for either lake for bank fishing?  OR... should I cancel those and head to Shadow Cliffs, Chabot, or San Pablo Res?  We haven't been to either Quarry or Del Valle.

San pablo or Lafayette would be good choices for me

Anywhere but Chabot!

Shadow Cliff is easier access for bank fishing than DV; but DV has more shore realestate.

How about Quarry lake?

I think Chabot's still in the midst of their algae bloom, so I'd say avoid it.

Del Valle is the most scenic of the EBRPD lakes if fishing is secondary to hanging out, I'd go there.

Shadow Cliffs / Quarry are the easiest to get to the water (there were reports of a recent algae bloom at Quarry, It'd be worth checking with them before heading over). SC is also good for a chill spot to BBQ. If you're bringing the yak, it's a pretty low-stakes lake if you want to indoctrinate the less experienced to the madness.

San Pablo is nice, kinda spendy between parking & access fees, but worth checking out. No water contact with water lake, if that matters to you.

FYI There's an algae bloom going on at Quarry which recently forced them to close off the swimming area

Thanks for the info, guys!  Looks like we'll give Del Valle a shot tomorrow.

Tom, I always forget about Lafayette... that'll be on my list for next time too.
