So I am pretty new to diving (4x 2x last year and 2 this year)

After reading about the sewage leak in monteray how long do you think before it's dive able?

Next question is I still do not have a yak yet ( probably in the next month or so) but is SWS a dive able place for shire dives? Or is it a crazy long swim to get to any structure worth diving?

Any/all responses are greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Robert Wiggins

Crazy long swim at sws, try down in Carmel between copper roof house and Carmel river state beach.  Be sure to check the conditions before you go, that area catches more swell than sws.

There's a lot of structure straight out and also to the right in 10-15 ft of water at SWS. Everyone usually paddles over it to better grounds.

All within 100 yards. I've never dove it but have seen people in there spearfishing.

Was planning on taking my son there one day.

Thank you guys for the help. I will look at the copper roof house and also look at the closer structure at SWS. I just picked up the last ot shift I need to get a yak. So now I need to go try them out. Debating between viking reload, trident 13, ultra 4.7,4.3, and tarpon 120/140.

Cabeza de Martello if you are looking for/wouldn't mind a tag along let me know. Schedule is really flexible. And am willing to learn

Thanks again

Definetly get out there and demo some different yaks before you buy. I love my reload though.

That's the one I want to lean to. But don't want to make final decision before trying the others. The only thing I thought might be a short fall was the storage. How is the storage for you? Is it enough? I sat it one and it almost seemed to form to my body in a good way. Storage is the reason why I like the idea of the trident 13 is. But I haven't paddled it yet.

I think the storage is just right. The grit hatch is easy to reach on the water and surprisingly large. I can fit my paddle seat hog trough and lifevest to make sure none of that gets left home. On surf launches I can fit my two piece 7' rod. The center pod holds all the tackle I could want. Just need to get the chill pod for the rear tank well so I can store my fish.
