General timeline -

Pop abs Sat/Sun.  Kept on ice in the cooler the whole time.
Clean and freeze whole abs Sunday evening.
Monday evening come back to the house to find the freezer door popped open.  Ice cream has melted, ice in trays is partially melted, other frozen meats are still mostly frozen, frozen shrimp is fairly thawed.  Abalone is not frozen, but is cold.  The abs were sitting on top of a ~10lb frozen pork chunk (still 95% solid) and in between some Costco chicken packs (~80% solid).

Abalone still safe?  I get the impression the popped freezer was still refrigerating the items.

Clean and freeze whole abs Sunday evening.

When you say cleaned  did you pop the ab and clean the guts or did you just clean the shell?

If you popped the ab and then froze it it's illegal to do that.

Total BS law if you ask me.....

Probably ok now, but I wouldn't keep anything in the freezer long term. It's not a good idea to defrost and re freeze food.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan
