Hi Guys - I new to the site as well. I mainly fly fish for trout and bought a new sea kayak about a year ago. I'm hoping to learn how to fly fish for Stripers from the kayak close to home in the Bay. Any information regarding kayak fishing is appreciated.

Looking forward to learning.

Regards,
Chuck

Thanks Eric. You ever kayak guide for Stripers here in the SF Bay area? If you do and think you can show me the ropes, I'm interested.

Chuck

Welcome Chuck. I live over in Tam Valley. Let me know if you are interested in getting out on the water some time. Muir, Paradise, whatever.

Hi Josh - Any time. Hopefully you've been out before. I've been living in MV since 2008 and always driving far to fly fish for trout. I've always wanted to kayak fly fish for stripers close to home. I bought my kayak about a year ago and heard the striper fishing on the fly can be awesome. I'm down anytime you're interestged. I ususally get home 3:30ish daily and could always do a weekend.  Let me know and we'll go from there.

Nice to meet you.
Regards,
Chuck

Sounds good. I've been out around China Camp and Paradise. I also fish and crab Muir Beach. Shoot me a pm if you want to discuss, but yeah, schedule dependent, I am usually home around that time as well...

Also looking to get into fly fishing. Would love to get a run-down on that.

Josh

Once the wind dies down a bit, and the water clears, come on over to the Marin Islands or Brickyard-- stripers should be chompin'
The algae bloom already happened, and i'm seeing loads of bait on the way to work....

I live in fairfax, but work next to the marin civic center...so afternoon stripers are just perfect for me.

Thanks guys for all the warm welcomes.   I was out of the country for a bit so missed the last part of May. How'd you all do on the Stripers out of the Kayak? Hope you slayed them. Any luck currently on Stripers in the Bay or does it turn off after the big migration up the Delta?

Regards,
Chuck

They are loads of fish around.
We should get the big influx of schoolies into the Marin shoreline here shortly. they're fun on an 8wt, but even more fun on a 5wt!

I may try to sneak out Saturday AM out of loch lomond and have a looksie--drop me a PM and i can confirm.  Today the winds stayed down enough that the water looks to be clearing a bit. If they stay down tomorrow, then sat might be fun
