If you only have a Hobie, go with the 30cm Hobie Trax 2 Cart.  If you have a Non-Hobie, go with a Wheeleez 30cm Beach Cart.  If you have both a Hobie and a Non-Hobie, and only want to buy one cart, go with the Wheeleez beach cart. It's really the wheeleez wheels that make all the difference.

Only use Hobie scupper carts on Hobies, because they are designed to be used with them.  Other kayak's aren't designed to take the stress in the scupper holes like Hobies are, and you can easily damage them.

I've yet to see a home built cart that could stand up to a Wheeleez cart, and have seen many of them fail... and then the cart builders end up buying a Wheeleez cart.

Don't be the 10,000th guy (like me) to buy the cheap carts first. Money wasted... Buy the wherleze beach cart.

+1 for Wheeleeze beach cart. Bought a cheaper model first and regretted it everyday until I bought some Wheeleeze.

Never going back

Wheeleze and nothing else. Get the one with the big wheels and you're set.
This...

It'll work with ANY kayak. I can think of a time or two when my Wheeleez have saved someone else's day. If I had a scupper model, it will be limited to kayaks with the proper scupper configuration.

I pulled the tires off my son's old Big Wheel to see if they fit on my Wheeleez frame...it's pretty close. The treads are pretty wide and not that heavy, so I thought it might be cool. Nothing beats the balloon tires though. I wanna get the huge ones they have at MBK!
I've used my wheeleez for everything, even pulling a 200qt salmon icechest across the beach...full of beer!

Will the beach wheels be okay on pavement? Most of my launches are off of a boat ramp

Okay so my new cart just came in and I went with the scupper style from Hobie and the wheeleez. Either I'm doing this wrong or it seems as though it's not wide enough? See pics:

without the rubber stoppers.

I'm no wheel expert but personally I'd rather have my kayak resting on a pad then shifting on an unstable structure.

Thoughts?

My thought is that you should return the scupper version that doesn't fit properly anyway and just get the standard Wheeleez.

Sorry if that isn't what you were looking for, but honestly I think they are just easier overall.

How do you install the scupper ones onto a kayak that's fully loaded down with gear, rods, net, crab traps, etc? Turn the kayak over on its side? Doubt that'll end well...

The standard Wheeleez include a kick stand. Set them up beside the fully rigged kayak, then simply lift and swing the stern of your yak into place. Slap on a couple cam straps and you're good to go.

+1. Return it and get the universal kind. You will be limited to only wheeling your kayak with that one. And if in the future let's say you buy a paddle kayak, you'd have to open a new hole on em  :smt003
