Hello everyone, my name is Augie, same as my screen name.  Well that is what all my friends me, my legal name is Mike. i am new to Kayak fishing.  I have fished many times before but not a level that I would call it a hobby, (more like once or twice a year kinda like golf- as long as beer is involved). I have also Kayak'd a little bit but just enough to know how to handle it. My buddy just retired and he got a Kayak -- that was inspiration for me to get involved.

My starter kit includes a 2015 Jackson Cuda 12- Dorado (name of the color).
Bending Branches Classic Angler paddle.  Scored a Fishing style PDF, 1.5 mm pants and some boots. Added a 6' pole and a new spinning reel (trying the KastKing Sharkie 6000 from Amazon to start).

Headed out fishing later this week.  Don't know where.  I am tagging along with my buddy and his friend, both experienced enough to show me the ropes.

I have lots of questions but first I have some reading here to do.

Thanks to Craig I met at Clavey on Saturday while picking up my Yak for guiding me to this site.

Augie-

Thanks for the welcome.  By the end of the month I hope to have enough knowledge to hook up with you experienced folks.  This site should expedite my learning curve, it already has.   :smt001
