Took my BC and reg in yesterday to get the annual maintenance taken care of. They said it would be two weeks before I get it back.

If you are planning on going and need this done I would recommend taking it in ASAP so that you get it back in time.

Picked up my BC and Reg yesterday and got my tanks filled too so I'm ready to scuba dive. My primary objective is to free dive though. I'm jonesing bad....hope the weather cooperates.

My goal is to free dive Weds through Sunday for long periods each day. But I have backup plans too.

I believe Shelter Cove is also known for its fishing  :smt001

Packing gear now  :smt003

I'll be staying pretty close to you Bill. You can see the Tides in the background.

Could you imagine a scuba dive with conditions like this video? Maybe be the first person to spear a pacbutt in CA?!

I've been Free Diving and Scuba for the last two weeks so I am ready. Just wish the water was as warm as where I am now. Still wore a 3mil here though for scuba. My breath holding is getting much better. Can't wait to hunt. Maybe Luis, Antonio, or myself will get a Pac Hali. I plan to look. Wish I was Nitrox cert. I really can't wait to see what it looks like deep down there in person.

Yeah I'm not too interested in scouring over a bunch of sand though. It would be different if there was a compressor nearby that we could get refills at. I'm open though........we can discuss there.

I know. I only have two tanks I can bring. I would rather hunt in the rocks too. No sand. I may borrow a third tank, but not sure.

nice video. I was told that the vis always sucks. I am guessing(but the looks of the video) that is not true.  can anyone that has dove up there before shed some light?

Depends on what your definition of sucking is!  :smt044  I've dove there during the GS tourneys for the past 3 years.  I'd say the avg viz I experienced was 6-8 ft, which is about normal for north coast diving in general.

Anyone planning on diving Friday morning (15th?)  Looking for a  dive buddy (or buddies)  to hit the water with to grab some abs and uni for the various pre-GS festivities!  :smt006
