I joined Fish Junky at Miner Slough today to christen his new ride…a Hobie Outback.  We launched at Arrowhead and went down steam in Miner Slough looking for bass and stripers.  Boy the ramp fee is really getting unreasonable at Arrowhead…$10 per kayak.  Well we paid the crusty ole dude and were off.  I drew first blood with an 11 inch spot.  We each matched the other fish for fish until around 6:30 when I had enough wind and chop.  I ended with 15 to the boat about half right at 11 inches and the smallest about the size of my spinnerbait!  Junky continued on for another 45 minutes and caught a nice 16 incher.  We pulled out at 7 PM in a strong wind.  A few photos for your approval…

Nice day man. You can launch for 5 a person at the private beach on steamboat and the sac. I'll be there today. Not to far to make it to miner from there.

Great Post Kokoloco. Looks like a fun trip except the high ramp fee.

Gone Fishin, I am also interested in this five dollar beach launch. Can
you give us more details please.  I normally launch at Hog Back on Steamboat
but my truck got broken into last time so no more.

As an fyi there are stairs from the parking area down to the beach so not an easy roll down to the beach where you would launch.    I have only been there once and caught a smaller LM Bass before even launching throwing a Senko up under the bridge.  I caught several smaller spots right off the bank by the marina downstream on the left and my first ever Smallmouth (3lbs) off the bank across from the marina all on a red/chart jig.
