Sac Port 4/17

Novofish and I hit the port this AM.  The WX was perfect so why not.  We started at 8 AM  in the barge canal.  I started trolling along the canal but found no luck.  I drifted minnows by the tugboats next but despite the abundance of marks on the FF I still was not rewarded with a fish.  Finally as I drifted minnows in the turning basin I scored a striper….kinda small striper!  Later we were reminded by the port police to stay 100 feet away form the dock/ships.  Ooops!  Finally we called it at noon and went for Mexican food.  Good stuff.  Some photos…

A slight mishap at the boat club...that's the boat sitting on the ramp...without the trailer.  Hay carumba!

Looks like beautiful day to be at the port.  To bad the fish were reluctant to bite.

Nice job getting out there.   Im surprised the port patrol said anything to you guys.   The last 10 or so times I have been out there nobody has said a thing,  and I am usually with in 10 feet of the docks.  Where did you see them at?

Hey fishball...they fired up the boat and came out after us.  They must have seen Tony's picture at the post office.
 

Dang...I guess you have to be mindful of the company you keep! Lol!  Thats crazy....I guess I will be careful next time Im out there.

Yeah Sam, the Port was slow, but you couldn't ask for any better weather to paddle around in!
I hoped for an striper upgrade but instead caught the same 12" catfish I catch just about every time i head to the forbidden zone

Ya the striper are late in the spawn and won't be heavy in the port for a month or so. The sac is full off fish right now!

Wtg guys on getting out there and gettin sum otw therapy.  That's surprising to hear the port patrol on duty. I thought they threw in the towel last time I had a few words with them! 
Yea the main sac is the place to be right now. Kinda hard to find a good launch spot with fish nearby tho. Wtg guys
