maybe what we fat fuckers need..me...is a little real world motivation ...like 500.00 each buy in

first one to loose their goal amount(only fat fucks can bet lol) and keep it off for one year...

so say like 295...with a 250 goal..time dated pictures of start and meet goal day....then 1 year goes by...still off...winner takes the pot

I'm in....we gonna need a bank account with some kind of legal way to hold it..

10 people get behind this...were talking nice money???

just a joke... :smt002

but really I'm in? :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Bro I lost 130 pounds in 12 months. You don't want to take that bet with me  :smt005

So far so good. Went for a 3 mile walk, not much, just didn't get a chance to go into the gym. Tomorrow for sure!

Dietwise did fine, could be better but as long as I did better than yesterday and keep it rolling I'm good!

I ate the last of the Klondike Bars today so I'm good for tomorrow, unless I buy some more.

I feel weird chiming in on this thread, cause i'm a total light weight. I usually have a racing weight of 142ish.  But after my crash last summer i was at 162 by late Oct.  that's nearly a 20% increase...lot of weight for a little guy.
Breaking your pelvis in three places, separating your collarbone, tearing a glute, and all that other collateral really fucks with your exercise routine.

I picked up some bad habits too, lot of beer, soda, ice cream, sitting on my ass....

Now i'm riding again, since late Dec.  Dropped to 153 as of yesterday...salads, less beer, loads of one hour rides and a long ride on the weekends.  I'm slow as all get out, but can see light at the end of the tunnel.  Still a freakin' struggle as i haven't reached that point where i feel strong...

Kinda feels good to vent with ya'll on it so thanks.

I'm kind of in steve's boat, but not with injury, instead it was elder care and the holiday stress combined.

Doc told me to lose 20#. I've been around 200# for as long as I can remember. heaviest was before I bought my house & was regularly going to the deli across the street for big deli sandwiches (can't afford it now :smt003), I hit 218.
Recently weighed at 205, which I didn't think was bad, but at 5'8" my doc wants me at 185.
He's using BMI, which I've never quite embraced.

I've been watching the calories in, and increasing the calories burned but boy, at 45 it is a lot tougher than when I was 25.

My diet is really good, it is the portion size I need to watch.

I upped my daily walks to get a solid 20 minutes of cardio each day, and started on light free weights to build up for the paddling season. With spring here and gardening to be done, I think I'm doing great in the fitness realm, just not quite there with the poundage loss.

I am in this with you guys  :smt002

It's just like smoking... The quitting part is easy, it's staying that way that's tough.  Quit smoking 17 years ago.  Lost 70 pounds 5 years ago.  It's a daily battle.

In a normal week i'll do 3-4 miles in the lap pool along with a 4-5 mile run  but swimming never seems to help reduce body fat. Although I can feel my strength go up I'll be hitting up the cycling class soon.

Swimming is a helluva whole body workout!  First time in the pool after a few years and I hurt all over next day!

Then this past November I actually felt something "pop" in the back of my head while straining during a bench press routine.  I had a crippling headache that was the worst pain Id ever felt.  I went straight to medical to get checked out.  They weren't sure what happened but we're worried that Id had an aneurism.  My blood pressure was also 40 points different between my right and left arms.  I was told to stop all work outs until I was checked out.  I had an entire series of tests with every kind of specialist doctor out there.  They never did figure out what happened.  The head aches went away after a few days but my blood pressure is still crazy.  I spent months going through tests and my weight steadily went back up.  I still haven't been cleared.

That's why I'm currently juice fasting.  Once I make weight for the Coast Guard I'll go back to eating "clean", running daily, and lifting weights.  This time I'm going to keep the weight relatively light and just do high reps.  Instead of lifting 250lbs on the bench I'll probably just limit myself to 160lbs as a max and do three sets of 15.  There's no way I want to risk the headache again!!

After a long layoff of regular lifting, I had the same issue but w/out the "pop" when I first got back into it. There's nothing wrong with going lighter and you can actually have a better workout. I rarely max out now and have noticed the strength increase (I'll do 8-10 225# but would rather lower the weight to avoid injury). I think abs are possible if I put down the whiskey sours.  :smt005

Ive tried many different way of counting trying not to lose count. The best way i found is doing it in increments of 250 yards. Once you get to 1500 its only 150 more yards.
