Can anyone recommend a salmon charter that would be good to take you a bunch of the guys from work?

8-12 guys, we are all bay area, but are open to drive 1-2 hours if it makes a big difference in fishing.

There's Huli Cat in Half Moon Bay & Randy's or Chris's in Monterey.  Not familiar with any of the Bay area boats.  Might want to plan it when the bit get's hotter & make reservations for that many people for a charter.  A few too many for a 6-pack boat & not enough for a REAL charter all to yourselves unless you want to spend a few hundred/person.

How much are the 6 packs? What are good outfits?

How many would a full charter take and what would they run?

6-pack should be around $120/person best estimate.  Raydon just booked a 6-pack ... maybe he will chime in or reach out to him via PM.  Whole boat will run $80/person @ 25 people (generally).  Huli Cat is 20 person/$2200 for whole boat.

The best 6pack for salmon is the Sundance out of Emeryville.  I have worked on a lot of the boats and the Sundance is a great boat with a lot of room.  You'll pay $200 per person for any of the better 6pack boats in the bay area.  If you want to pay less you'll have to book one of the boats that is licensed to take more guys.  I personally dont like to fish salmon with more than 6 guys especially if they have never done it before.  My favoirte boats for salmon in the bay area are the Sundance,  the c-gull, the new rayann, lovely martha and the outerlimits.    The sundance is the only 6 pack.  http://www.emeryvillesportfishing.com/tf.html

When are you looking to book might be a better indicator of where you should book out of.

For 8-12 guys I would go on a party boat.
April - June - Monterey or HMB
June -September - SF

If you go on a party boat read this first: https://1000fish.wordpress.com/2010/08/07/im-a-sole-man/  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

As far as boats, the Hulicat and Queen of Hearts are both good boats out of HMB with good skipper and crew. If you had only 6 guys, I would fish with Kahn.

outer limits out of Sausalito is a great boat with a really good captain. Its also a cat, and is super stable and one of the better choices for anyone who gets seasick.

"Mooch Better" out of Pillar Point Harbor/HMB! Nice boat, great crew; plus he has helped out NCKA in the past.

But mostly, it's because the name honors our fallen brother!

and +1 on the Hulicat!!
