Has anyone used these for lings, halibut or rockfish?  I picked up a couple packs and thought I'd give them a try.  It seems that you can't throw something too large for lings.

I've caught lings and rockfish on these in Timber Cove and Santa Cruz! I've always used the brown ones with the gold sparkles but I'm sure any color will work

They weren't Berkeley brand-they were just in the swim bait section but they were 8" and looked the same

Same here, root beer has always worked well for me. I also used the white with success. They just tear up real easy, after 4 lings they're done.

The bigger the bait, the bigger the fish!  Have confidence in your bait/lure and you'll catch something...and you bought them already so too late!    :smt003

yeah they work and twin tail ones do too..work good...I had a buddy fish one all day in my spare yak..left him at some kelp...when I came and found him later he had about 1" of tail left and had a limit of rocks and lings...

I'm not a huge fan. I think their expensive and body is excessively large. Even tho they ribbed for ling plezzure, I haven't experienced any better yield than say 6" big hammer.

But then again I sorta suck lol

so he's right to about that...they are too big for most hooks....and their are better lures...like Branson Baits or Big hammer etc...kalins grubs are smaller and easier to rig...
one reason I gave the ne my buddy was using,to him, was i did not care if he lost it...but you asked if they work

and that I guess is a yes they will catch fish...
