The potentials for this are near limitless, not having a home, I only dream of the day when I can go wild in the back yard.

the smoker on the cinder blocks is one done in Europe, it actually has a fire box at the far end of the concrete, so all you get is a cooler smoke coming out in to the main chamber (barrel).

Love the ideas... Im gonna stay with the flute on top rather then the webber lid I think. Gonna start working on the wood box today, while at work.

more Euro pics.  Not in perfect order, but I think you get the idea.  This is for smoking things for really well regulated temps.  Keeping it in the perfect low and slow zone.

Andy, there are so many UDS styles out there.  I like the wheels on them.  makes it mighty mobile for those fish and chills!

I like that cold smoker design.  Would be nice to be able to smoke cheese and make lox.

Looking at all these pictures and that meat smoking is making me hungry! I am putting some trout on the smoker when I go home for lunch today!!!

Here is a smoker which a friend made out of a railroad signal box.  It has an electric smoke generator in its base, and three fans inside the smoke chamber to keep the temperature and smoke levels inside the chamber more even.  He makes his own wood chips from limbs pruned from apple trees in his yard.

Now that is bad ass!!!!
