is there a cut off to entrant numbers..I got  more than a few that are coming and need to get them signed up in time if so..thanks for all the hard work and for making this happen Allen
Are we doing a cook off after etc...let us know how we can help
I haven't spoken to Bushy but I can probably help answer a few Q's: there won't be a cap on participants and you can signup & pay the morning of the event if you are a procrastinator, and there will probably be a small BBQ w/dogs provided by MBK (not a potluck), but you can probably help cook or prepare food/drinks, or maintain general order.

Carrie and I will be in the area. Camping at veterans memorial park. Our 29th aniversary :smt007 will pop by. No fishing, but chilling for a bit with y'all at the beach will be fun. See ya if timing works out...
Let me know if you want me to grab a spot on Thursday because Vet's Campground does not accept reservations and there are a few events in town that wknd (Continental Grand Prix @ Laguna Seca).

Pat thanks for the intel.

I have a few questions.... start time, end time? Launch and morning of reg location? Species or single biggest fish? PPI C&R or scale? Area restrictions or borders? Prize allocation: cash, boat, ?

Thanks!

I'm not official...just trying to help answer a few questions. So hopefully Bushy will correct me if I'm wrong.
Everybody gathers & launches from the same spot, in front of the MBK shop. Start time is right after Bushy gives the safety speech (usually around 6:45 or 7am). End time is noon, so you must be in line to weigh in your fish before 12. Single heaviest sportfish wins (rockfish, lingcod, cabezon, halibut, salmon, wsb, thresher?) so no Points Per Inch or CPR. Area restrictions = as far as you can paddle/pedal (no sails or motors allowed). Winner gets a brand new Ocean Kayak. Second & third usually receive something like a paddle or PFD.

Good chance I will be limited out on turkeys for the season by this Sunday, and unless I have kids lined up to hunt, I will be there!
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

haha

I will talk to MBK Monday if all goes well, to finalize details, but the plan is to run just as in other years. 7am launch.  Noon weigh-in.

Safety and pep talk at 6:45 or so on the beach.

Gotta launch from MBK and return via yak to MBK.  Heaviest game fish wins.  sharks and rays don't qualify except Threshers.  Paddle or peddle only, no sails or motors.  $$ go to Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project.

Just sleep on the beach .... 100's of Monterey's "finest" do it nightly!  They might even share some of their 'Pruno' with you!
