which transducer are you using and why? I guess the 5 is the same as well. I fish mainly fresh water but am going into the ocean this year too.

83/200 hdi. Transducer if you fish mostly fresh.  It will work in salt as well up to around 140' give or take.

Deeper salt the 50/200 hdi; shallower salt/fresh 82/200 hdi on either an HDI or CHIRP unit.

I will post this here instead of a PM so others can learn too...I bought a used Elite 7CHIRP, I have two transducers, but they both look the same. The Lowrance part number from the internet for a 83/200 does not match either one. So, how can I tell which ones I have? They do have some manufacturer numbers that are different to each one.                                                                                                                                                                       They both have SKU of 003-876-00n a tag on the cables.         They have numbers embossed in the plastic when made of  500812399  or  501031768. Can you tell me which is which??

Are they both the same size?  What is the width?  This will help me out the most.  I'll look into the p/n you mentioned on the tag.

Even a picture would help of it.  The stamped numbers are foreign to me.  Maybe a s/n or batch# of some sort.  If the tag#s ate the same, they are most likely the same ducer.  Nothing came up in my search for 003-876 .. Is that correct?  Looked like there might have been a typo in your p/n posting?

Sorta the opposite.  You have to tell the unit which transducer is connected to it.

Process of elimination Mike...  :smt002
Does either transducer look like this?

Because that's the one you want, in either 50/200 & 455/800 frequency OR 83/200 & 455/800 frequency. It should have a blue plug and seperate power cord.

If it looks like this one below, or has the power cord integrated with the transducer cord, then it's the wrong/old transducer.

Both of the pics you texted me had a P/N of FA XDCR ... that P/N crosses over to an 83/200 HDI transducer.  Both transducers should be identical based on those images of the tag you sent.  If they are different in size & shape, then please let me know.  All indications point to 83/200 HDI transducer ... as does the width dimension you gave me.  The 50/200 HDI would be over 3" wide & a standard 83/200 would only be ~1" wide .... a DSI transducer isn't much larger in diameter than a fat pencil.  A standard 50/200 transducer is ~2" wide & fairly short in length.  All other Lowrance transducers are visually WAY different in shape, size, thickness & looks so I won't go into those.

Did I miss something?

the stores XDCR was the combo 83/200 455/800. It has no mount arm moulded in. The one in the pic you sent is what it looks like and the part numbers match the tag, separate power cord, etc......so it looks like I have two 83/200 XDCR, maybe the combo 455/800

PHEW, that was rough. Im gonna use what i have and see how it works out. Thx for the time looking it up for me.

The mounting arm (black part) and mounting hardware (bolt/nut/washers/ sst bracket) are all removable.  Here's a picture of my 83/200 HDI transducer in my wet bath mounting for reference.  Not the best of pic but you can see the lack of the mounting parts I mention above as well as a reference dimension of size.
