2015 AOTY GrandPrize Secured!!

Just wanted to let you all know that I got confirmation last night from Kevin Nakada with Hobie that they are on board for yet another year of sponsoring AOTY with a brand new Hobie!!

 

I am super grateful to Hobie for their continued sponsorship of our event....Kevin has been awesome to work with the past few years, and I can't say enough about how fortunate I think we are to have Hobie's continued support.

Hobie is in for another year! We will be glad to support the tournament once again.

ps...just so there is no confusion...

This year the Hobie will go to the AOTY. I am working on securing a Jackson for the DOTY, and we are still working on getting another yak for the "participation raffle" winner.

In an ideal world we would have all prizes secured and confirmed by January 1st of each year, but in reality it doesn't really work that way given the fact that many companies/manufacturers need a little bit of time to plan out which events they can afford to sponsor each year.

Please rest assured that I, and the AOTY and DOTY committee guys, are doing the best we can to get as many awesome prizes for the AOTY and DOTY participants as possible.

Not to belabor the point, but if you look at the hard times that our neighbors to the North seem to be having getting prizes it really puts into perspective how fortunate we are to have such awesome sponsors supporting AOTY and DOTY.

I agree 1000% that the main motivation behind competing in AOTY/DOTY for most people is not winning a kayak or any other prize, but everybody likes winning stuff, and for some anglers that don't have a fancy kayak etc it can be reaaallly motivtaing!!
