I am in the market for a new paddle and need some advice . Willing to spend for quality and need a lightweight performance oriented paddle . Possibly all carbon?Any suggestions as to which companies and why would be helpful. There is a wealth of knowledge in NCKA looking forward to what members  have to say. Thanks!

Adventure Technology full carbon. Oracle is my favorite. Not a blend like with some companies who say there paddle is carbon. You can borrow mine any time you like. We can meet at Folsom to fish. I can bring a couple different models.

I'm also a longtime Werner guy. I've been happy with all of their paddles.

Check out the carbon shaft/fiberglass blades too. It is a really good option if you are put off by the full carbon prices.

If you want something a little different in terms of performance you might try out a wing paddle

When I bought the Stealth 575 Bruce educated me a little about wing paddles and steered me to one w a good balance between performance and being easy to use

I took the chance and had them ship me one, am now a wing convert Definitely more efficient, I think something like 25% more push for your effort

You should be able to demo a few at CCK

Will keep my Werner and Swift paddles for backups or loaners but probably never use them again

Man I was going to recommend a cheap paddle.. I have not tested it out yet but I got it for 35 bucks..

I guess I got it on a glitch from amazon. Its not so cheap anymore..

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M0M0T1Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anyhow.. I had a flat cheap 15 dollar paddle.. It was short too.  I paddled it to the red buoy in Monterey and it worked..  I was shopping and the weight difference on a carbon is 6ounce from the aluminum I just got from amazon.. I dont think that will affect my ability unless Im paddling 10 miles.

Camano is a low angle paddle.Shuna is a high angle paddle.Different blade shapes.I like the Shuna.
